Alcohol Service Policy – Barefoot Bride Weddings & Coastal 59 Venue

Barefoot Bride Weddings & Coastal 59 Venue do not hold a liquor license and therefore cannot sell, provide, or purchase alcohol on behalf of any client.

However, Maryland law allows a private event host to provide alcohol to their guests when it is not sold and is served in a controlled manner. Our venue operates under this legal private-event model.

What is allowed

✔ The contracted client (bride & groom or host) may purchase and provide alcohol for their private event
✔ Alcohol may be given to guests at no charge
✔ All alcohol must be delivered to the venue unopened
✔ All alcohol must be placed behind our bar for service

Who may serve alcohol

To comply with Maryland regulations and venue liability requirements:

✔ Only Barefoot Bride Weddings & Coastal 59 bartenders are permitted to handle, pour, or serve alcohol
✔ No self-serve stations are permitted
✔ No guests, family members, or outside vendors may serve alcohol

This ensures proper ID checks, portion control, and safe service.

ID & Age Requirements

✔ All guests consuming alcohol must be 21 or older
✔ Bartenders will check IDs
✔ It is the client’s responsibility to inform their guests that IDs will be required
✔ Alcohol will not be served to anyone without valid ID

What types of alcohol are allowed

This venue operates as a pop-up private bar, not a full liquor bar.

✔ Wine
✔ Beer
✔ Champagne / prosecco
✔ Sipping spirits such as bourbon, whiskey, vodka, rum, tequila

❌ No shots
❌ No drinking games
❌ No crushed-ice cocktails
❌ No muddled or smoked cocktails
❌ No specialty cocktail theatrics

Simple mixed drinks (vodka soda, bourbon on ice, rum & coke, etc.) are permitted.
